I saw this online this morning: http://www.koat.com/news/worker-burned-at-los-alamos-national-lab-in-critical-condition/32806058 All I could find on the cause was that they were recovering from preventive maintenance at the site... Prayers go out to those affected. |

A ladder is located in the cubicle. Was the injured worker using the ladder? Was the substation energized while maintenance work was being performed? Did the worker have proper PPE? Had an arc flash study been performed? Many federal agencies are way behind in electrical safety especially in the proper use of PPE. |

Where does it state that the photo from A2003 is directly related to the Los Alamos incident?? So many suppositions, so few facts. |

What I find odd is that nine people were sent to the hospital. An arc flash might affect two or three people, but it's rare that there would be nine people working in close proximity on electrical equipment. |
